We are currently seeking suitably qualified candidates to fill the following available position(s):

Production Agronomist

Responsible for safe, effective and efficient management of field production processes, typically at the location level.  Recruits and maintains grower relationships.  Plans and executes field production operations by maintaining contact with grower base and managing grower rotations and isolations.  Provide assistance, training, and problem solving for growers including but not limited to product performance and agronomy related production issues. This job progression covers both commercial and foundation seed production. Serves as a primary field contact for seed production which includes: grower management and support (acreage planning, quality control, etc.), coordinating integrated pest management program when applicable, and coordinating production research programs at the plant level.  Responsible for training and education of field employees and growers in agronomy, trait purity, seedsmanship and safety.

The successful candidate will possess the following:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in agronomy, agriculture or related discipline required.
  • Requires 1-3 years of experience in Seed Production Management.
  • Experience operating agricultural equipment – tractor, combine, etc.
  • Advanced computational skills required.
  • Project management and prior functional project experience preferred.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn new software
  • PCA or CCA accreditation preferred
  • Must possess an excellent multi-faceted functional knowledge of current agronomic practices included but not limited to: crop physiology, crop diagnostics, IPM, pollination, and crop protection activities including insect and weed management.
  • Ability to obtain State and/or Local pesticide licenses
  • Awareness of industry trends, technology, and latest developments.
  • Sales and presentation skills are also a major plus.
  • Valid Driver’s License required and willingness to travel.
  • Strong research, decision making, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, with tolerance for ambiguity.
  • Fluency in English, excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills.
  • High degree of adaptability & flexibility.
  • Must be able to work long hours and weekends during busy season.
